Carloforte

Carloforte

This pretty town is the only one on San Pietro Island. From Genova Pegli, through Tabarka in Tunisia, its background mixes different cultures and traditions, offering the tourist an unexpected cultural contamination regarding language, food and architecture. The coast offers wonderful beaches with high volcanic cliffs and Mediterranean forest behind . Vineyards, countryside and pine forests; one leading into another. Carloforte remains the last active tuna fishing area in Italy and the local cuisine blends the flavours of Ligurian and Arabic tastes, linked to the tuna fishing activities. Young people, families and Seniors choose this place for its charming environment as well as the special attention the people of Carloforte reserve for their guests.
